With the Canadian Country Music Awards coming to Kelowna for the first time, we set out to bring a little more country to the streets. TMPO created and produced this activation between the CCMA's, Lime, and City of Kelowna.
Seamlessly blending mobility with the spirit of country music, HORSEPOWER let fans take the country music lifestyle one step further — by exploring the city on modified Lime scooters fitted with custom horse heads.
Created to animate the city core while spreading the word about the CCMA and celebrating Canadian country music, over 120 scooters were deployed daily in downtown Kelowna — generating buzz, photo ops, and spontaneous moments of joy for both riders and passersby.
The activation ran in Kelowna only, for September 10th-13th, 2025.

It sounds pretty simple, right? Horse heads on a scooter.
But there was a ton of technical work and prototyping and that had to go into producing something that looks great, is safe, and can:
• Structurally withstand 50km/h + windspeeds
• Install quickly
• Made of 100% corrugated cardboard
• Not use any custom hardware
• Low environmental imprint / recyclable
• Maximize the budget
More than 300 heads were produced to keep the installation running downtown over 4 days – no small feat considering how riders use Lime to make their way home from downtown core, with some horses ending up over 5km+ away.
On the engineering side of things, the creation of the head shape and structure was done through the lens of traditional origami – but with a little bit more precision. All the folds and angles were engineered to form a strong triangular structure when folded and bolted to the scooter's existing mount plate.
